Children's Ministry can be demanding and at times it may seem as though parents, the senior pastoral staff do not appreciate the efforts being expended by the Ministers to serve the littlest of saints. Still minister and mentor the children.
Children's Ministry can at times demand more time that you think it should - the preparation and the planning that is needed to prepare for sessions. The teaching, the reinforcement activities, the in-class activities, outreaches, interaction with parents, other church departments, etc. Still Minister and mentor the children.
Children's Ministry can be highly underrated and misunderstood. The ministers not appreciated for their qualities, qualifications, commitment or dedication. Still minister and mentor the children.
Children's Ministry at times seems to an unrewarding ministry. Still Minister and mentor the children.
Why should I carry on when all of these things seem to be pushing me towards leaving such a ministry? Here is why you stay and minister to the children. The children are our future. Whenever God was ready to do deliver, or turn a new leaf of leadership in Israel, he did not send a committee, no he sent a child. Moses, Jesus, Samuel, John, David, etc.
Children are a promise that tomorrow will be different. There will be miracles, new Godly leadership for our churches, civic organizations, counties, islands, nations and countries.
Mentoring and ministering to children carry their own rewards for those who would take the time to steer children in the path they should go. The Lord will bless those that minister to children when others are struggling, he will open opportunities to you that no man can shut down. The Lord will give you favor to make you stand out in a crowd and provisions flow to you when others are lacking. The Lord said to the disciples feed my lambs 3 times more than he said feed my sheep. Children are important to God. Continue to minister through the struggles you may be having.
The greatest reward from ministering and mentoring children is the results of such ministry when you see them come into their destinies as productive citizenry as pastors, lawyers, teachers, doctors, military personnel. You would have had a hand in producing these persons and whatever they accomplish in life would be traceable to the time you invested in them as children.
Over the 33 years of ministry My husband and I have gotten letters, emails and parental thank you notes for the investment in their children's lives that made the difference in the direction they were heading in life. The seeds of faith, hope and expression of genuine love for the littlest of saints will not be in vain. Minister and mentor the children as Children's Ministry is the greatest ministry you can ever be a part of. Remember Jesus stopped a crusade for children. Keep ministering and mentoring the children. You really do not know who you are influencing - future Presidents, Primer Ministers, Inventors, engineers, lawyers, etc.
"God don't make junk. He intentionally created you. Therefore, you have a purpose for being sent to this earth. Blaze before you are recalled. You were created to be famous, to invent, to discover, to solve and to give your gift to your generation. Find what you are passionate about and you will find the purpose for your existence.
